As they say, who you are is how you coach and skillful coaching starts with a coach’s own self-awareness. At my core, I have followed three guiding principles all my life, and in times of stress and struggle, it’s these convictions that have given me the grit to push through.
The Power of
The Start
How you start holds a quiet influence over everything you do; from your morning rituals when you first wake up to the start of a race or even, to the first day of a new job. When you start well, the power of beginnings demonstrates an unparalleled positivity in the form of courage and hope that can echo through to the finish. Starting well is not about starting perfectly - it is simply taking the first step with intention that makes for a good beginning. [See: How to Move Forward When You Feel Stuck]
The Power of
The Senses
The senses are the pathway to presence and awareness. The power of being connected with your senses, your body and your environment tells you everything you need to know about all the choices you want to make. Thinking takes you out of the moment, but feeling and observing through your senses is non-judgmental and this is the foundation of well-being and self-reliance. The Power of
Sincerity
The power of intention, through sincerity, can convey your strongest convictions, more deeply than any words can articulate. When you move forward with purity of thought and act outside of your ego, you exude more stability, confidence and belief in yourself. Sincerity infuses your communication with a clarity and positivity that invites trust and collaboration. [See: How to Build a Meaningful Network]
